It’s fair to say that since March the pandemic has caused severe disruption to virtually everyone’s life, even if they haven’t contracted the disease. The impact on the wedding industry has been enormous with weddings being completely outlawed from late March until early July. Even then the UK government has only allowed small ceremonies and, as of 15th August,  sit down receptions for groups of up to 30 people. There is currently little information on if and when the government plans to increase numbers.

This has forced many couples to reschedule their dates into 2021 and beyond. Couples understandably want a big party but with group dancing and singing currently advised against in the guidelines that makes having a wild celebration very unlikely for the foreseeable future.

The Rise of Micro Weddings

However, not all couples feel this way. Every couple getting married has a list of priorities for their day. For some it’s the big party, for others it’s simply being married and spending time with close family. For those who are willing to forego the big celebrations a small wedding reception of 30 people can work in their favour by simply scaling back their day from the original plans. These are called micro weddings and we are going to be seeing a lot more of them in the future. Small, intimate affairs with a meal and possibly light entertainment, all complying with current government guidance.

Performing arts

As of 11th July 2020 performing artists were allowed to return to outdoor performances and, subject to infection rates remaining low, artists will be allowed to perform indoors to socially distanced audiences from 1st August, the same day as wedding receptions return. This is where I believe my services can provide the perfect intimate atmosphere for your day.

What I offer

A pre-Covid wedding would have been a big affair with a full dance floor, lights, lots of singing and dancing too. I’m positive that, in time, we will see the return of these types of weddings. However, for now, if you are planning of holding a micro wedding in 2020 I am able to provide Covid secure, socially distanced “live lounge” style acoustic sets for you and your guests. These will include:

  • Several sets of music played to your guests as they sit at their tables
  • Plenty of stories and banter
  • Guest requests through a messaging system

It’ll be like having your own personal artist. Your guests will be provided with top class entertainment that’s high quality, interactive and engaging without ever having to leave their tables. And the best part is that, in 2020, I am running a special offer. Here is my 2020 pledge to you

Book my Socially Distanced Live Lounge service for your micro wedding in 2020 with a NO DEPOSIT. If, due to Covid related reasons such as the government reimposing restrictions on weddings and / or the performing arts, I am unable to fulfil the service, you will not need to pay anything further up to and including on the day of your wedding.

Terms and conditions apply. Ask for details.

What you will need to do

If you want to take advantage of this offer then you’ll need to check a few things first:

  • Check that your venue has capacity to allow one singer and guitarist indoors or outdoors whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines.
  • Ensure your venue that a full risk assessment will be provided.
  • Couples and guests agree to abide by measures put in place to ensure the safety of everyone involved. i.e. no dancing or loud singing along etc.
