Featured wedding: Nicola & Oli at East Riddlesden Hall

When you travel as extensively as most wedding suppliers do you get to see a lot of beautiful venues. There are a number I could name but there are few that can hold a candle to East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley. The rustic barn setting is breathtaking even when it's not decorated so you can only imagine what it looks like when talented suppliers such as Simply Vintage get to dress it. To be accurate much of the decoration was done between Simply Vintage and the bride herself. And it has a stage. Yes, a stage. For a acoustic wedding singer like me that's a dream come true. I looooove a good stage.

Oli and Nicola booked me as their wedding guitarist back in July 2015 after Nicola had seen me at another event. They decided to go for my platinum package of drinks reception music and evening entertainment including me as their wedding DJ and singer. It being the first day of October one would have expected the weather to be a little on the cold side. In fact it was quite a beautiful day which meant we could conduct the drinks reception proceedings outside by the picturesque pond. At night the venue has a row of light bulbs along the pathway which makes it look and feel like something from a Hollywood production. Gorgeous.

In the evening we moved into the first dance of Ain't No Mountain High Enough before two electric sets which consisted mainly of 90s indie music which the crowd lapped up finishing with a joint rendition of Take Me Home Country Roads which quickly morphed into a footballesque chant of The Good Citizens' Take Me Home Midland Road, the anthem of Bradford City FC.

Photography by Chris Reeves Photography and the day was co-ordinated under the watchful eye of the extremely talented Chloe Judge.
