Set in over 100 acres of land, Oakwell Hall and Country Park is a 17th Century furnished house. It is now run by Kirklees Council in West Yorkshire. It is open for weddings and is a licensed venue which means couples can be legally married in the great hall before moving into the converted barn. It is a beautiful setting for a DIY wedding providing a blank canvas in the barn area and grassed area outside for bails of hay with additional space for evening catering such as a hog roast. I provided entertainment for Gareth and Gemma’s entire day at Oakwell Hall in April 2017. Video below.
